Faliraki beach

The bustling holiday village of Faliraki is located on the north-eastern coast of Rhodes, around 14 kilometres south of the city of Rhodes. Faliraki is less than 20 kilometres from the airport, and you can travel between the two by car in around twenty minutes.

An overview of the beach
The almost five kilometre long beach in Faliraki is without a doubt one of the most popular beaches in Rhodes.

At the southern end, the beach starts at a small harbour. The first 600 metres are quite narrow, but the rest of the beach is a lovely wide sandy beach with fine, golden sand. The water deepens slowly and there are rarely waves. So a very family-friendly beach.

Along the entire beach there are many sections with sun loungers and sunshades. There are also showers, small changing rooms and toilets in several places. During the summer months, the beach is supervised by lifeguards.

South of the small harbour is the equally lovely Kathara beach. It’s a little quieter and often has more space.

Child-friendliness
The beach is very child-friendly. There is fine sand and shallow water, and if you move away from the most popular areas, there is plenty of space to play.

Water sports
Faliraki is home to various water sports, such as parasailing, jet skiing, water skiing, banana boating, and kayaking. The largest selection of water sports can be found on the southern part of the beach.

There are numerous beach restaurants, cafés and bars along the beach, especially at the southern end. At the small harbour there are several cosy restaurants, such as the highly acclaimed seafood restaurant Maresea.

The town of Faliraki
Faliraki is the biggest holiday destination on Rhodes, and the town is brimming with restaurants, cafés, bars, and shops. When darkness falls, Faliraki turns into the most popular party destination on the island.

That said, the northern part of the town is nice and calm. The north is home to the big, new hotels, most of which have four or five stars. Many of these hotels are all-inclusive, equipped with swimming pools, and have various activities for guests of all ages. One of them is the all-inclusive Mitsis Faliraki Beach & Spa, which is right on the beach but also has three swimming pools and many fun water slides.

Faliraki offers many activities. The most popular is the Faliraki Water Park. Speed lovers can visit the local go-kart track, while everyone can enjoy the bowling centre and the mini golf course.

If you are up for an excursion, there are plenty of options. We recommend Rhodes Town, which offers great shopping and one of the most beautiful historic quarters in Europe. The small village of Koskinou, located 7-8 kilometres from Faliraki, is also very beautiful. If you want to experience one of the island’s most beautiful natural beaches, Tsambika is less than 20 kilometres away.
