Stegna beach

Stegna is an old fishing village on the east coast of Rhodes, about thirty kilometres south of Rhodes Town and just two kilometres south of the fairly large town of Archangelos.

The best hotel in Stegna is the Porto Angeli Beach Resort, which we can definitely recommend. The hotel has two large pool areas and is only 15 metres from the water’s edge. Family rooms are available and there are many facilities for both children and adults.

The beach in general
Stegna beach is an approximately 700 metre long sandy beach with a little gravel here and there. It is beautifully situated in a mountainous area and the views from the beach are outstanding.

The water is crystal clear and usually calm, like most other beaches on the eastern side of Rhodes. It is possible to rent sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach, while parking is free by the road along the beach.

Stegna beach is never crowded and the calm atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing day at the beach.

Child friendliness
There is plenty of room to play in the sand/gravel. The water is usually calm and although it gets deep quite quickly, the beach is well suited for children.

Water sports
Kayaks, paddleboards, sailboats and pedalos are available for hire. Under the water there are many rock formations, providing perfect conditions for snorkelling and experiencing the colourful marine life.

Beach restaurants
There are several restaurants and cafés close to the beach. The restaurants have many delicious fish dishes on the menu.

Stegna Rhodes

The resort of Stegna
Stegna is a quiet town that still retains some of its Greek village charm. The calm atmosphere and beautiful surroundings make the town ideal for a relaxing holiday for families and couples alike.

Most of the town’s restaurants, cafés and shops are located on the road behind the beach. Stegna has two small harbours, so the restaurants have good access to freshly caught fish – and it shows on the menus. One of the best seafood restaurants is Perigiali Sea Food, located close to the southern and largest harbour.

There are many opportunities for adventure. The surrounding mountains invite you to go hiking or cycling on rented mountain bikes. For example, you can cycle to Tsambika, the most beautiful beach in Rhodes. It is also possible to get out on the water in a sailboat, kayak or paddleboard.

The map shows the 700 metre long beach and the town that lies along the beach. If you’re on holiday in Stegna, you should visit Archangelos Cave and the small but incredibly beautiful Grande Blue Beach. Both are just a 10-15 minute walk south of Stegna.
