About us
My name is Allan Christensen, and I am the proud founder of www.rhodes-beaches.com. The website is regularly updated with new texts, images and videos, and administratively this is done through my small one-man company, WebSights.
As a child, I visited Rhodes with my parents, so you could say that my love for Rhodes began back then. However, the truth is that I was not very old and don’t remember much from the trip. I do remember that we stayed at a pebble beach, so a reasonable guess is that we stayed in either Ialyssos or Ixia. These were among the first holiday resorts on Rhodes, while several of the now well-known holiday resorts were established later.
As an adult, I have always had a passion for islands with diverse nature, interesting villages and beautiful natural beaches – and at the same time of a manageable size. Rhodes meets all these criteria, which is why I have been to Rhodes countless times – and I can never get enough of this wonderful island. On my most recent visits, I have stayed in Rhodes Town, which has a wonderful old town and several beautiful beaches.
In Rhodes, I can visit interesting villages such as Koskinou, Siana or, of course, the historic and picturesque Lindos. Or historic sites such as the Acropolis, Monolithos or Kastellos. But it is the beaches I spend most of my time visiting.
I am particularly fascinated by natural beaches, and Prasonisi at the southern tip of Rhodes is something very special. This is where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Aegean Sea, and at low tide, a sandbank appears, connecting the mainland to a small island off the coast. It is a paradise for beach and nature lovers like me, and fortunately, there are many more amazing beaches in Rhodes.
Every time I visit Rhodes, I try to experience something new, and I love sharing it here on the website. My goal is to create a reliable and personal travel guide with a special focus on the beaches. I have also made some recommendations for where families with children and adult couples can stay.
I shoot a lot of photos on my trips, and most of the photos and all the videos on the website are by me. On my last trip to Rhodes, I brought this photography gear:
- Camera: Canon 6D
- Video camera: DJI Pocket 2
- Drone: DJI Mini 3
If you have any suggestions for new content, comments or questions, please feel free to contact me. I appreciate the dialogue with other Rhodes enthusiasts and would love to hear from you.
